Matters
by Salina Bailey
I drive trucks for a living, one in
a long line of truckers. Both my dad and stepdad were drivers. They
were hauling logs in old Mack trucks before I was even born. It's
funny, but none of my brothers followed in their footsteps, just me the
daughter! More...
Shortcut Through Paradise
by Jenny "Small Truck" Van West
Most days, I drive in the city. This
means that half the time it is not the pleasurable sort of driving
that happens along a deserted road somewhere sunny, chasing gulls
down a coastal highway. It is gritty, wet, Seattle driving... More...
Lost and Found
by vo
So it goes a little something like
this. I was in love with her. I waited years to get her, scrimping
saving, driving around in a Ford Pinto for years. Waiting, looking,
hoping to see her. My dream girl. A '64 Valiant slant-6 (of course)
V200 with a push-button tranny. More...
Ogling Italian Cars on the Pier

Italian scooters, motorcycles, and
cars were displayed on Pier 62/63 in Seattle at the Eighth Annual
Italian Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, September 5th. As if the
cars were not enough, the organizers also engaged an opera singer
to entertain the visitors... More...
Report from the NHRA Northwest Nationals
by crewchief
Sunday August 1st I attended the
National Hot Rod Association Northwest Nationals. Nothing could
have prepared me for the feeling in my body when I witnessed the
first run of the day. It was top fuel dragsters - they smoked the
tires and it looked great. More...
Why I Love Trucks: A Memoir
by Jenny "Small Truck" Van West
In first grade, my class took a field
trip way out River Road, past the shopping malls sprung up practically
overnight, out into the rural land near the Potomac River that was
home to miles of wooden fences and horses. We visited a working
truck farm-that's where vegetables are grown, not trucks. More...
Rumble in Redmond
by Barb "TrueBrit" Fairhead
No, not another earthquake. The All
British Meet in Marymoor Park. The mother lode. First thing I saw?
A tasteful display by the British Military Vehicles Association.
There it was, in the flesh, a fully-functioning Ferret. More...
Remember When?
by Angela
At two Seattle-area car shows this
summer, one beautiful vintage car had painted on its side a fetching
girl carhop, on rollerskates ready to serve up some burgers. Above
her was painted the words, "Remember When?" More...
Monster Mayham
by crewchief
Lately people have been looking at
me with this look of horror when they witness my admittedly bizarre
excitement that the monster trucks are coming. "The Monster Trucks!
The Monster Trucks! Ahhhhhhh!!! Omigod!!! Omigod!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!"
is what erupted out of me when I saw the first commercial on TV.

American Cars - Brit's Eye View
by Barb "TrueBrit" Fairhead
Being used to driving little Euro-boxes
with three gerbils and a wheel where the engine should be, and NO
soldiers in sight, I am amazed by the fact that everybody seems
to be driving tanks and other military looking vehicles in this
country. More...
Chrome Love
by vo
What is it about chrome? It's sleek,
shiny and sexy. Chrome. Only chrome can mix organic with hard lines
and have the end result look hot. More...
Fun with Ferrets
by Barb "TrueBrit" Fairhead
And not the fluffy, de-clawed, de-scented
kind. It's a Scout car, very nippy (0-300 mph in 60 seconds) Great
visibility. Goes as fast backwards as it does forwards. Not very
long. Probably the same as the width of that new Ford Expedition.
